Introduction to trauma and working with people who use substances

A one day Trauma course was held in Uist on 27th February, facilitated by the Scottish Drug Forum in conjunction with the Outer Hebrides Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP).

The course was an introduction to the relationship between trauma and problematic drug and/or alcohol use and introduced the theory of trauma to enable participants to identify and implement practical strategies to appropriately support service users who may have experience trauma.

The training is aimed to enable support workers, project workers and other staff to become trauma-informed within their practice.
